Insurance is cheaper in Florida. What is the law regarding this? I live in NJ Full-Time and own a second home in Florida that I rent out. Also could you tell me a website that would contain this law or more info. Thanks!!!!

if you get caught with a NJ license, but have a car registered in Florida in your name. You’ll get fined
Your insurance company will base your rate on where the car is usually parked, not on where the bill is being sent to. If you lie on the application, that could invalidate your insurance and make you liable for all kinds of stuff!
Be careful.
yes you can
and it is most likely a lot cheaper to do so
just come on down fora visit and visit the DMV..
my advice to you would be to make sure you have enough insurance so when you drive up north.your protected enough..
god luck
THE N.J. D M V ”we all know about them” WILL ASK YOU WHAT YOUR PRIMERY ADDRESS IS, AND YOUR INS. CO. WILL DO THE SAME, SOOOOO YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT IT IN A N.J. REG.
Insurance is cheaper in Florida than Jersey? That is amazing, I thought Fla was incredibly ridiculous as it was.
I know Fla really gouges you when you register your car there from out of state, you might want to check with the Fla DMV.
if the car is registered in fla,, and your license is fla,, then yes.. there is a 2 part rule.. lic, reg, ins. 2 of them have to be in one state.
Yes, just visit DMW
Yes you can…
Your insurance company will ask where it’s primarily garaged
Maybe, but they’re going to send the new tags to you at your Florida address.
Also, some states require an in-state drivers license before they’ll issue registration there. That’s the way Massachussetts works.
